Are you a growing company in a niche industry that needs more eyes on its products?
Do you know that the services you’re providing are excellent, but you need others to see that too? Do you want to leverage authentic customer voice to tell your story?
Six years ago, the co-founders of SEON – CEO Tamas Kadar and COO Bence Jendruszak – were in just this position.
The duo had met in college in 2016 and launched a crypto exchange platform. They were soon the target of relentless attacks from fraudsters. After trying multiple fraud detection solutions, they decided that they could build a better one themselves.
Hence, the launch of SEON in 2017 in London and Budapest. The challenge was to get others to see that they’d built a superior product and to understand their vision of democratizing fraud protection.
Democratizing the fight against fraud with the help of G2
Amanda Lieu, Director of Brand, Product Marketing and Growth, says, “One of our goals as a company is to democratize the fight against fraud by making fraud protection as easy and frictionless as possible while ensuring top-level security.”
SEON provides a 30-day free trial as well as paid plans for those who want more capacity.
SEON knew, almost from the outset of the company launch, that G2 could help them power that approach by getting as many eyes as possible on trusted product reviews, amplifying customer voice through their marketing materials, and pushing interested customers to demo their product and eventually purchase an upgraded plan.
Goals
- Harness the power of customer voice in marketing activities
- Push potential customers to the free product expert consultation on the SEON website
- Use G2 Badges and testimonials in marketing materials
- Help recruit high-impact employees who can help bring SEON to the next level
Leveraging the trusted reputation of G2 to push customers toward product demos
Almost from inception, SEON has used and relied upon G2 to provide authentic customer voice for marketing purposes. “G2 is known in the industry to be the go-to source for SaaS reviews,” says Lieu.
“The voice of hundreds of our customers on G2 means more than our marketing and sales pitch.”

SEON has 278 reviews with a 4.6 average on G2, which ranks quite highly compared to their competitors. Interested parties can easily see these rankings and immediately click on a “Start Free. Upgrade Later” button that brings them directly from G2 to the SEON website to talk to an expert or get started right away with a free trial.
SEON has quickly gained an impressive client base while expanding its footprint to additional offices in Austin, Texas, and Jakarta, Indonesia. SEON works with 5,000+ merchants and reviewed more than 1.7 billion transactions, preventing over €160 billion in fraudulent activities.
In fact, In 2022, SEON was 7th on G2's Fastest Growing Products list! They also recently acquired anti-money laundering capabilities and expect to keep growing by leaps and bounds by being an end-to-end fincrime prevention solution.
Growth is supported by the stamp of approval from G2 rankings and badges, which SEON applies to their website, blog, emails, social media postings, and email signatures.
“G2 has been a really great validation tool for us. How we show up on G2 is something we want to continue to focus on and make even more pivotal to our success,” says Lieu.
“At a time when there's more choice and information than ever, validated customer voice and an easy buying journey is essential– and G2 has been a key part of that for SEON.”

G2 drives 600% increase in free trial clicks and supports hiring
Oliver Rolinson, Customer Marketing Manager, says that the impact of G2 continues to grow in terms of marketing and sales.
“G2-powered free trial clicks have increased 600% annually, which is pretty impressive,” said Rolinson, who plans to strengthen and expand the use of customer voice through the sales process in the coming year.

SEON has also dramatically increased its workforce, doubling its staff in the last 12-18 months. This is another area where G2 has played an important role. For example, SEON recently hired a new Chief Revenue Officer, Matt DeLauro, whose decision to join the company was impacted by the reviews on G2.
Lieu shares, “G2 is a great recruitment tool! Our new CRO looked at the reviews, saw how great they were for both our product and customer success team, which positively influenced his decision to join the team."
