What is the difference between G2’s Best Software Awards and these quarterly reports?

For G2’s annual Best Software Awards, the scores reflect reviews submitted in the evaluation period - the prior calendar year – while other G2 reports might include more or less data which would potentially show different rankings for software companies and products.These awards are also not detailed reports, but a “best of” ranking in a list form.

  • Best Software Awards: G2’s Best Software Awards rank the world’s best software companies and products on an annual basis. Dozens of lists are generated using G2’s proprietary algorithm based on G2’s verified user reviews and publicly available market presence data. To be eligible for one of G2’s Best Software Sellers or Best Software Products Lists, a software company must receive at least 50 approved reviews in aggregate across all of its G2-listed products during the prior calendar year.
  • G2's Quarterly Reports: These reports are published every quarter and provide a detailed analysis of the software landscape in various categories. They include rankings of software products based on user reviews and other data collected over the past quarter. The reports can give deep insights into the market performance, user satisfaction, and features of a wide variety of software products.
