Frequently asked questions on G2 refresh review campaign
G2 has specific criteria to ensure these requests are sent only to relevant users who can provide meaningful updates.
- The Timeline: Previous reviewers are eligible if their original review was approved between 6 months and 4 years ago.
- Exclusion Criteria: G2 automatically filters out users who do not have a G2 account, have previously unsubscribed, or whose emails have resulted in hard/soft bounces.
- Safety Measures: Users marked as spam/bots or those who are non-compliant with current privacy regulations are also excluded from the campaign.
The experience is designed to be frictionless for the user, focusing only on what has changed since their last entry.
- Short Form: The review form is "short and sweet," primarily asking the user for a new rating and inviting them to share what is currently working well or could be improved.
- Anonymous Support: G2 will reach out to anonymous reviewers as well, provided they meet the standard eligibility and privacy criteria.
- Email Cadence: To prevent inbox fatigue, each campaign consists of only one initial send and one follow-up reminder.
You can manage these campaigns directly within the my.G2 admin portal.
- Setup: Navigate to Reviews > Refresh Reviews. You will need to enter a start date, name the campaign, and decide whether to offer incentives.
- Estimation: Before launching, the portal provides an estimate of how many previous reviewers are currently eligible to receive your emails.
- Monitoring: Once live, you can track the results and review influx under My.G2 > Review Activity, which uses the same dashboard as standard review generation workflows.
